After Adelaide hosted it in April, the IRB Rugby 7s tournament is coming to the Gold Coast in November this year which is set to become the new home for the Australian leg of the world series for the next four years.
The tournament will be staged at Skilled Stadium on Queensland’s Gold Coast on 25-26 November 2011, and being just 9 weeks away, we hope you’ve got preparations underway to be part of it all
Accommodation
As we all descend upon the Gold Coast, so too will all the ‘Schoolies’ as Schoolies Week incidently falls on the same weekend! As such, accommodation is on massive demand as we are all competing to find great deals, so make sure you organise your accommodation nowto avoid paying high rates or missing out all together
Games and Seating
Just as we do every year, we will be co-ordinating the seating for the infamous Kenyan cheering squad and if you want to sit amidst it all, this is where we’re sitting this year:

TThe ‘pre-sale period’ has been set aside to give Kenyan supporters the chance to purchase tickets before the rest of the public which will be from 12pm Monday 3rd October 2011 to 5pm Monday 17th October 2011.
After-parties
As the Kenyan invasion hits the Gold Coast, kick off the weekend with the renowned ‘AFTER7S’ after-parties at a spectacular venue right in the heart of all the action in Surfers Paradise! This club is so central to all the nightclub hot spots, restaurants, cafés, beach and shopping strip that you can experience all the Gold Coast has to offer without venturing further than just a few steps. More details to come…
If you somehow miss the pre-sale period and all the tickets get sold in Bays 24 & 25, purchase tickets on either side of those Bays when the tickets become available to the general public so you can still sit close to the Kenyan contingent
As always, September’s ‘Midas Touch’ edition of AFRICA FEST was jam-packed and our next edition will be even more so! On Saturday 1st October we’re bringing you ‘Ladies First’, a night to celebrate the ladies in light of Miss Angola’s latest crowning as Miss Universe

As everybody starts to descend upon Adelaide, we will kick off the weekend at ‘Newmarket’, meeting up with old friends, making new ones and getting the feel for what will be a massive weekend! Newmarket is a chilled-out venue with a lounge that spills into a cocktail bar where your favorite DJ’s will be spinning your tunes…Kwaito, House, Soukous, Genge, Bongo Flava, Lingala, Coup Decale, Zouk, Hip Hop, R&B, Soul Nu-Jack, Dancehall, Ragga, Reggae…and more! A contingent from the Kenyan Team will also be there tonight to greet the fans!
► Saturday 2nd April– Gabrielles @ HQ
This is the first day of the Rugby 7s games, so you can imagine the party atmosphere at night at Gabrielles for the weekend’s first ‘true’ after-party!! It has a massive bar, lounge and balcony to enjoy the Kenyan food (just like home!) and fantastic drink specials. The DJs will be in their finest form to keep you dancing til sunrise! Remember, HQ is the hub of Adelaide’s nightlife and as such, we were at capacity by midnight last year, so come early to avoid disappointment at the door!
►Sunday 3rd April – Gabrielles @ HQ
This is the final day of competition so even the players can let loose! With exclusive appearances by the entire team, feel free to mingle with them and party in true style as this will surely be our biggest night!
