AFRICA POSTPONED ON RACIAL GROUNDS: VENUE

It is with extreme regret that we inform you that 'AFRICA FEST: Ladies First' edition that was to be held this Saturday 1st October 2011 at a new Melbourne venue 'Geddes Launge@Inflation Nightclub' has been postponed.

The management of the nightclub had a last minute change of heart on Monday by expressing 'their reluctance to host a night where the majority of patrons will be African'.

This news came only 5 days before Africa Fest was to be held, despite the fact everything had been confirmed via a contract and financial agreements.

Yes, even we cannot believe that such closed-minded opinions still exist.

But just as we have always done, we will continue to bring you diverse and high quality events and as such, will advise of the new date and venue (be it at our usual hot spots or a new, accepting and open-minded venue) for the next AFRICA FEST as soon as possible...

GOLD COAST IRB RUGBY 7S | 25-26 NOV 2011

After Adelaide hosted it in April, the IRB Rugby 7s tournament is coming to the Gold Coast in November this year which is set to become the new home for the Australian leg of the world series for the next four years.
The tournament will be staged at Skilled Stadium on Queensland’s Gold Coast on 25-26 November 2011, and being just 9 weeks away, we hope you’ve got preparations underway to be part of it all

Accommodation
As we all descend upon the Gold Coast, so too will all the ‘Schoolies’ as Schoolies Week incidently falls on the same weekend! As such, accommodation is on massive demand as we are all competing to find great deals, so make sure you organise your accommodation now to avoid paying high rates or missing out all together

Games and Seating
Just as we do every year, we will be co-ordinating the seating for the infamous Kenyan cheering squad and if you want to sit amidst it all, this is where we’re sitting this year:

Skilled Stadium Bays 24 and 25. Click here to view the venue seating plan

TThe ‘pre-sale period’ has been set aside to give Kenyan supporters the chance to purchase tickets before the rest of the public which will be from 12pm Monday 3rd October 2011 to 5pm Monday 17th October 2011.

Two-day pass - ttp://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?pp=QKENY&sh=ESKL0000011R

 Single day pass - http://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?pp=QKENY&sh=RUGBY7S11

After-parties
As the Kenyan invasion hits the Gold Coast, kick off the weekend with the renowned ‘AFTER7S’ after-parties at a spectacular venue right in the heart of all the action in Surfers Paradise! This club is so central to all the nightclub hot spots, restaurants, cafés, beach and shopping strip that you can experience all the Gold Coast has to offer without venturing further than just a few steps. More details to come…

If you somehow miss the pre-sale period and all the tickets get sold in Bays 24 & 25, purchase tickets on either side of those Bays when the tickets become available to the general public so you can still sit close to the Kenyan contingent
