FREE EVENT!

The Queensland African Communities Council (QACC) cordially invites all to experience and enjoy the rich, vibrant, and colourful diversity of the many cultures of Africa at this year’s Africa Day Festival!

Africa Day commemorates the founding of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) – which established the African Economic Community in 1991, and created its own successor, the African Union (AU), in 2002 – and celebrates the journey of the many countries of Africa towards unity and solidarity. It is celebrated in numerous African countries and worldwide across the African diaspora.

Brisbane’s Africa Day Festival, which is one of the QACC’s signature events, guarantees everyone a day full of unforgettable entertainment in a spectacular showcase of traditional and contemporary African performances, delicious food from the different cuisines of Africa, wonderful African arts and crafts, fashion shows and activities for children, including Youth Stalls and Kids Fun Tents.

It is a FREE annual family friendly public event and the QACC and its members look forward to welcoming you all to African House to celebrate and enjoy the Festival with them on the day.
