South Sudanese, Seeking to Fit In, Stand Out in Australian Basketball

A group of South Sudanese youth in Sydney, Australia, who call themselves Savannah Pride (as in a pride of lions), frequently descend upon a local gym to play ball and and find themselves hurtling from casual play to something much more tied to the power centers of big-time basketball.

Many of these young men dream of making it big in the realm of basketball, and their lives and dreams have been laid bare in this tell-all in their collective plight to make it in the big time.
